Valencia College is one of the most rapidly growing Community Colleges in the Florida State College System and was named the best community college in the nation as the inaugural winner of the Aspen Prize. To continue to meet the increasing demand for quality education, Valencia is continually improving their academics and opportunities offered to students. Most Recently, Valencia has partnered with UCF to open a brand-new campus in Fall 2019 in downtown Orlando that will be the new home to their Culinary Arts and Hospitality program.

Despite all these impressive additions, there is no student housing exclusive to Valencia students, causing students to resort to finding housing in the shadow market or commuting from projects closer to UCF. Vale East, an elite student housing project coming to Orlando in Fall 2020, will introduce the supply desperately needed to curb the impending housing shortage. As the academics continue to reach a higher level, the student population follows suite. In recent years, Valencia College has seen their student population increase both domestically and internationally. The rapidly growing international student population has experienced a five-year growth of 177%.
Florida Developer, Nvision Development and investor Park Square Homes saw the need for Valencia Students to have a student housing project of their own and sought to make that need a reality. The two companies have previously partnered on the luxury apartment living project, Champions Vue , and sought to bring the same level of sophistication and excellence to the student market. 176 apartment units will be distributed amongst three four-story buildings, providing a total of 456 separately leasable bedrooms. There will be a mix of one, two, three, and four-bedroom units to meet the budget and needs of every student.
Vale East's collective amenity package and modern spacious bedrooms makes it stand out as a true leader in modern student-living. Typical units will feature electric access, eliminating keys and making each unit more secure. Units will also include stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, kitchen islands, faux wood floors, and individual pantries for each resident. Every bedroom will be fully furnished and have its own spacious walk-in closet, its own desk, and private bathroom with tubs. Select units will have balcony access.
In addition, residents will enjoy modern amenities across two unique student-centric facilities. Doubling as the central administrative and leasing office, Vale East’s focal clubhouse is designed to provide a peaceful and safe environment for productivity, learning and community. Here, students will have 24-hour access to computers and printing, study areas, collaborative workspace private conference rooms that can be used for group meetings or a quiet study space. Beyond academics, this clubhouse will house an on-site security office, package concierge, coffee bar, indoor/outdoor community room for parent and student activities and a tranquil outdoor Zen garden. Across the complex, residents will be immersed in the finest amenities that student housing has to offer. Surrounding a resort-style swimming pool, an auxiliary clubhouse will feature a full fitness center and yoga studio, a tanning salon, a sauna, a golf simulator, bowling, a game room, a self-service mini-mart that will have 24-hour access, cabanas, and outdoor recreation space. Vale East will be completed in July 2020 to accept students for the Fall 2020 semester. Demolition began this month and the construction will be managed by Winter Park Construction. Behind this project is a seasoned team that includes Slocum Platts Architects, Wohlfarth Consulting Group as the civil engineer, Masterpiece Interiors as the interior designers, and First Financial Bank as the construction lender.
